Recap: Yuuya and Stella try to escape the base with Yui before the Soviets bomb the entire area. With Yuuya’s TSF badly damaged, will they all make it out in time?

Jel’s Thoughts: Another decent episode this week, although I have to say they’re really dragging this scene out as long as possible. I feel like events somehow panned out slower than real time, especially if you count the SOVIETS ARE EVIL reminder, complete with EVIL purple lighting and what not. Even Yuuya and Yui’s little conversation about what to call each other was ill timed. I found myself yelling “NO TIME! GO! GET OUT!” at the screen while they were ironing out their little schoolyard crushes. How much different the episode would have been if he had just grabbed her and gotten out of there right away.

Other than that, the writer’s did another good job of pushing the tension as far as they possibly can. We all know Yuuya will somehow survive the hopeless no win situation he’s gotten in to, but they still make you feel the weight of the situation. Part of that was waiting to see how and when they would off Stella, but miraculously that didn’t happen. As soon as Yui got in her TSF I knew she was safe, so I guess I’d put Nepali girl back on the top of the Most Likely Team Member To Die list.

Based on the vague previews I’m guessing Fikatsia and the red shirts will discover they’re also disposable and bail out Yuuya next week. He will then have to pay the price by listening to another one of her speeches, which means we will also pay the price and have to listen to one of her speeches. And hey, maybe we’ll finally see Cryska again! We shall see next episode.
