Recap: Our heroes settle in for a relaxing trip to a famous Alma hot springs. Kon runs into ED who is there to try and recover from his “condition”, but that seems to be the least of Kon’s problems.

Jel’s Thoughts: For a group of people desperately trying to reach the Capital as soon as possible, our party sure does like to make a lot of stops, don’t they? I know plot is not exactly the most important element of Ixion, but as the episodes fly by with very little progress made I’m wondering if the writers even have a plan to wrap this all up.

But really who cares about all that, this episode was funny! Some of my favorite moments include Kon finding Sainglain in the Red Light District and the funny noise highlighting  ED checking out Kon’s “soldier” throughout their conversation. And here’s a fun fact I stole from Wikipedia: The hot springs they visit is named “Tamatsukure”, which alludes to the real life Tamasukuri Onsen known for its healing properties. But “Tamatsukure” can also also be read as a pun, meaning something like “ball making”. Yes ladies and gentlemen, Ixion has taken balls jokes to a whole new level of complexity! So even if there’s not much attention being paid to the plot, there’s plenty of effort going into the comedy.

With Kon’s weird Alma glow carrying on to next week, it looks like he’ll be wearing the God Guise next episode. We’ll have to see how Ixion puts its own spin on that familiar setup. I’m guessing there will be balls jokes.
