Recap: ED sends word that he’s returning home, causing his subordinates to fight over who is his Right Hand Man. Along the way he receives a new Alma powered sword from the mysterious woman who summoned Kon.

Jel’s Thoughts: Sadly last week’s fantastic episode is followed up by filler, focusing on ED’s lackeys that no one but the most rabid fangirl cares about. Admittedly it’s not quite as boring as the pet episode as there are some entertaining moments. I don’t know why I found the bit about the Red Hair Guy’s wife leaving him funny. Maybe I’m just a horrible human being but for some reason I find the way it was so casually tossed out there to be amusing.

Sadly that’s about all this episode has going for it as all we really needed to know about these guys is that they are ambiguously gay for their commander. None of their little anecdotes added anything worthwhile, and we got nothing from Variation who seems to be the only one who might matter. I suppose the more interesting bit plot wise is ED receiving his new sword. Just whose side is this mysterious woman on? I’m still inclined to believe Kon and ED will ultimately have to work together to defeat some greater evil and she is probably preparing them for that. It will also probably involve balls.

That’s pretty much all there is to say about this week, it’s that thin on content. Next week looks like the party will be trying to help Kon deal with homesickness, so that sounds like it has enough comedy potential to get us back on track.
