Gee’s Thoughts:

Another slow episode this week. As much as I love the source material, Wit Studio and Production IG are really dropping the ball on pacing here. We get treated to yet another 20 minutes of talking and single frames ending with about 20 seconds of amazing jaw dropping animation. To be fair, Pixis’s speech was quite excellent and worthy of being up there with the rest of em. Shows you that for all his casual drinking on the job and vore fetishism, there’s a reason why this man is the commander of the entire Southern army.

As some may have feared, Eren’s control over his Titan form is tenuous at best, with him immediately punching at Mikasa less than 30 seconds into his transformation. Will the army be forced to put Eren down, or will he manage to regain control over himself? Having read the manga, I am seriously dreading the next episode. If the pacing of the next episode is as bad as it’s been for the past two, expect yet another episode of flashbacks and talking heads before anything cool happens. This was one of the coolest parts of the manga and the anime is utterly ruining it with its terrible pacing.
