The World God Only Knows: Goddesses Episode 6

Recap: HNNNNNNNNNNG…. sorry what?… you need a recap? Kana Hanazawa’s Shiori voice. Enough said.

I’m not usually one to fawn over voice actresses, but ever since her roll as Shiori back in the original run of TWGOK, Kana Hanazawa was the first actress I could recognize the moment I hear her. I love her shy roles the most, so Shori was always the gold standard of that cute awkward stammering that was part of her claim to fame. Needless to say, she nails it again this episode, bringing back all the charm that I remember made Shiori my favorite girl of the first season.

It helps that Shiori’s episodes seem to benefit the most from the rapidly shifting art styles. With Shiori’s active imagination, the comedy was great from her spastic inner monologue to trying to literally bury her feelings within her mind. The best part was the constant theme of his targets thinking Keima looks really cute when he’s dressed as a girl. For a normal man that would be terribly emasculating, but not Keima. The man has no shame.

Reading her story, it’s super nerdy, but that’s what makes Shiori Shiori. It’s kind of funny how, whenever Keima deals with a girl who is shy, he has this swagger about him. Even crossdressed the guy is a boss, and when he comes to see Shiori in the final scene, he has all the moves of a Casanova.  With my two favorite girls already given the spotlight, I’m afraid I’ll stop enjoying these episodes. I’m already having trouble talking about this show, what do I do when I literally don’t even care what’s going on?

  1. @marlinclock dont worry you will enjoy the last 2 girls becouse the next episode will be the most funny one ever and there will be more funny after that so after you will see the next one it will be more easy for you to care about this show

  2. Yeah, you’re probably right. I need to stop being so negative. I just have this memory of finding the Goddesses arc disappointing. I guess I don’t remember thinking that until the very end, which is when it turns all serious on us, so these next few should still be good.

    • if you been reading the godness arc in the manga until the end then you understand why i say the next episode will be the most funny ever

      • Ah, well the whole double sick event thing wasn’t my favorite part, so I guess that’s where we split ways a little.

  3. @marlinclock what i afraid to watch is the episode with the big sad moment with cihiro and keima on the rooftop this will make me cry.you also agree this moment was very sad moment in the godness arc?
