Show Notes
5:23 Oddly specific honorable mention: Shout out to Hitoribocchi no Marumaruseikatsu and NAMUAMIDABUTSU! -UTENA- for being better than expected but not good enough to watch, also not having localized titles for some reason
10:17 How bad is the quality drop in One Punch Man season 2?
18:27 Was Fruits Basket worth bringing back?
26:27 YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World at least introduced me to some sweet PC-98 MIDI music
29:41 Demon Slayer is fine I guess?
37:57 Fairy Gone is kind of all over the place
43:22 RobiHachi is not Space Dandy and it is also bad
50:39 The Helpful Fox Senko-san is also bad and creepy
58:41 Carole & Tuesday was good but Shinichiro Watanabe may be a grumpy old man
1:12:36 Anime is saved thanks to anime of the year Sarazanmai
Well i think would only watch Demon Slayer this season since i like the manga. But there always Jojo. I don’t hate fruit Basket but i still need time to forget the god awful dub of the older version i saw, i think i wait for the new series get a little far ahead before i watch it. Music anime isn’t my taste. Pretty slow season if you ask me. Also i just learn that Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu getting a anime. And if you don’t know what that is, it the precursor to most of the current Isekai series, the base form for all other Isekai series to build upon, the embodiment of bad isekai tropes in it infant form. Can’t wait to see that trainwreck.
Yeah I think we all agree it’s a slow season. I say this a lot, but maybe I really can get to some backlog now?
I think Iro is right on the money re. Carole and Tuesday. The manager’s line is “All of our singers nowadays are AI’s”, not something like “all our music is composed by AI’s”, after all, and it seems like Angela’s arc will be about defying her promise to be a “marionette” and returning the human spark to music along with Carole and Tuesday. It’d be hella weird for a show to proclaim itself anti-“artificial” music and then put people like Flying Lotus and Taku Takahashi on its soundtrack.
