Premise
Motosu Urano loves books but dies. Now she’s in another world, inhabiting the body of a young girl named Myne, where books are few in number and owned only by the wealthy. Also this world is bland, poorly animated and an utter chore to watch.
Euri’s verdict: Book-Off
Surprise – yet another season of anime is kicked off by numerous bad isekai shows. Ascendance of a Bookworm is unfortunately another one, only this time there’s literally nothing notable to say about it. It’s not interesting and it’s not full of questionable content; it offers you nothing in exchange for twenty minutes of your time. However, if I had to choose something that sets this show apart from the other bad isekai, it’s that this one looks dreadful.
To get an idea of how bad it looks, I recommend you watch the opening. It shows literally nothing that would excite you for the show, every single character it features is unfathomably generic in design, and the main family of four have a janky run cycle that puts the original version of the Ace Attorney anime opening to shame.
That’s really about it. Don’t waste your time.
