After another talk with Yamaken, it looks like his momentary attraction has become a full-scale crush. Will this be the fire that finally gets Haru to take action in this relationship?
Frau has Kai live up to his end of the bargain catching cheaters, which results in his most assholeish behavior yet. After Subaru settles things with his almost equally horrible father, and Akiho finally gets the parts she needs through her sponsorship, things are starting to look up again for Team GUN-BUILD1. Unfortunately, such good feelings are short-lived.
The confrontation at the Tree of Exodus has begun. With the entire might of the Japanese Self Defense Force in their support, Mahiro and Yoshino go to confront the mages directly, running into Samon. Instead of actually fighting, we proceed to spend more than half the episode talking. Then talking. Then showing a guy talking to nobody. Then a plot twist, so I guess at least there’s that.

While Jun’s fantasies make the first half, Subaru’s family problems finally rear their head in the second act.
Another flashback episode reigns supreme as we go deeper in to the Yoshino-Aika-Mahiro triangle.
Haru seems to finally have a grip on his feelings, only to have Shizuku drift away from him in favor of her studies. Being the socially deficient guy he is, he starts creeping on her, driving them further apart. However, after another chat on the long staircase home, a little blood rushes to her cheeks once again.
While Aki is struggling with financing, Kei investigates the weird reaction his tablet had in the last episode. What he uncovers may bring him to face against a publicly benign but secretly militant scientific body. Wait, haven’t I heard that plot hook before?
Junichiro is certain Hakaze is dead, even handling her skeleton, which has somehow been picked clean in a matter of months (trust me, this does not happen.) After some fanservice laden backstory for Junichiro, another fruit appears. To make matters worse, Yoshino gets kidnapped, making Mahiro give chase.
Class Rep Oshima is quickly integrated into the plot as Haru confronts her after her advice fails to win him a class rep nomination of his own. At the same time, Shizuku’s test scores are dropping, which makes her question where her real priorities should lie. Her feelings culminate into the worst date scene in history.
Recap: The school continues to mess with our poor genki girl, declaring the ROBO-ONE prize funds won’t be added to the clubs budget until after she graduates. This means she’s forced on a fundraising campaign. Meanwhile, Kai gets roped up in another ROBO-ONE competition by MISTAH PUREADISU, the first guy to actually take his KILL-BALLAD…

Despite Haru’s stubbornness, Shizuku wants to learn more about his past and get to understand him better. On the way to their date, Yuzan shows up and lays some knowledge on our heroine.

Another fruit rises in the small village town our heroes have passed through. Since nothing better is going on, the pair take a moment to reflect on their past.
Aki is driven in making a robot that can win the funding she needs. Kaito is somewhat given some character, shown as sort of a replacement figure after presumably the untimely death of Aki’s sister in a tragic accident. Doesn’t stop him from continuing to be a dick to the poor genki girl.
After some advice from Shizuku, Haru becomes the most popular boy in school. Just as she starts to get jealous, Haru lashes out again in defense of a girl, only to alienate his classmates and cause more problems. After an Asako-fanservice filled summer, my prediction rings true as the gang run into Haru’s older brother Yuzan. While their meeting is amiable, Haru’s avoidance of him still raises questions to his true nature.
As many of you may have known, the Madoka Magica movie aired in five cities across America last Saturday. As a resident of Chicagoland, and a pretty decent Madoka fan, I decided I couldn’t let an opportunity like this pass me by.
Yoshino reveals the secret behind his magic to Mashiro just in time for him to get caught by Evangeline again. After she gets delt with, another mage enters the fray. Next episode, Yoshino fights the mage as Hakaze gives us a huge info dump. I suppose this stuff was good as world building but damn did it have to be so wordy?
