The GLORIO Chat Episode 15: Summer 2018 Anime Preview
We try to talk about the new season but it’s bad, so we also talk about Osmosis Jones, Hyougemono, and, of course, six degrees of separation with Spider Riders.

Mere minutes after the airing of FLCL Progressive episode 1, Team GLORIO USA got on their microphones to record some hot takes. Shockingly, we didn’t totally hate it???
Team GLORIO USA Lite (Jel, Iro, and Gee) talk about why we love mecha, the challenges mecha anime has faced over the past 20 years, and where we’d like to see mecha go in the future. Also, we try not to get sued by Harmony Gold.
Team GLORIO USA hands out mid-term grades to all the shows we’re watching, determining if each show is better, worse, or the same since the last time we discussed them. Also, we pay tribute to the classic Pokémon character Nurse Jenny.
We might not be The Avengers, but nevertheless Team GLORIO USA has assembled for an honest discussion about Netflix and the state of how we watch anime in 2018.
This episode is dedicated in loving memory to the Golden Kamuy anime.
Jel, Iro, Marlin, and Gee aka Team GLORIO USA share their final thoughts on the Winter season. We talk about our favorite (or not so favorite) shows, discuss if Netflix is bad for anime, and Jel and Iro continue to battle over segues.
The Spring 2018 anime season is rapidly approaching, so we do the responsible thing and talk about some of the notable shows worth keeping an eye on. Join us as Iro displays his mastery of segues, Gee sells us on Golden Kamuy, and Zigg reveals he loves punching dogs.
If there’s one thing we like to talk about besides anime, it’s men in rubber suits beating up other men in rubber suits while everything behind them explodes. Join newbie Jel as he gets schooled by Zigg, Aquagaze, and Iro on all things tokusatsu, particularly the long running Super Sentai and Kamen Rider series.
No amount of bad audio, technical difficulties, or even the anime police can stop Jel, Iro, and Marlin from getting of their takes on this season’s bottomless pit of cute shows. We geek out about March Comes In Like a Lion, Dagashi Kashi, and the remaining contenders in our Cute Anime Battle Royale. Seriously though, apologies for the poor sound quality, we will do better next time.
Zigg joins the usual lineup of Jel, Iro, and Gee as we catch up on Mr. Osomatsu and it’s stellar episode 18, Garo – Vanishing Line’s penchant for bullet punching, Violet Evergarden’s big change in episode 5, and of course our favorite dumpster fire, Darling in the FranXX.
Kids these days with their Fate/Grand Orders and Fate/Apocryphas, making up servants all over the place… BACK IN MY DAY, there were only seven servants with seven masters. Well, technically eight I guess… and wait, there’s the Caster and Assassin thing so uh not sure how many masters… ANYWAY, join Jel, Iro, and Gee for an anime-focused discussion of their love/hate relationship with Fate/Stay Night and the various sequels and spinoffs it has spawned over the years.
What’s this? A podcast?!? The GLORIO Chat has returned after a ridiculously long hiatus. In this episode, join Jel, Iro, and Gee as they complain about robots (or lack thereof) in two of the season’s biggest shows: Violet Evergarden and Darling In the Franxx.
We take a break from more conventional anime talk and tackle our sexiest topic yet – GUNPLA. Gee and Iro drop some knowledge on my ignorant self about the art of building elaborate plastic robots. It’s quite interesting, promise!
Jel, Iro, and Marlin discuss the origins of their refined Anime palates, debate if watching anime is “cool”, and recommend shows for any brave soul attempting to get into anime in 2015.
AND WE’RE BACK! Join Jel, Iro, and Marlin in the first episode of the official reboot of the official podcast of The Glorio Blog. We chat about the new season and what’s worth watching and what’s worth skipping. Listen now and find out which one of us can do the best YEEEAAARRTTT!!! (spoiler: we are all terrible).
With the new anime season bearing down on us, Zigg, Marlin, Aqua, Iro and Life clubbed together to talk a hell of a lot about videogames (and pour one out for Hiroshi Yamauchi) before breaking down each show we plan to cover here on the blog while Zigg says “we’ll wait and see” far too…
It’s our birthday!
Yes, it’s time for those titans of the internet airwaves to return, as Zigg, Jel, Aqua, Iro and Life crash back onto the scene to give their impressions of the new season and break down each individual show. There’s also a smattering of what we’ve been watching and playing, and plenty of gossip on the…
After an even longer break than before, the gang reunite for a new episode. With Zigg hosting and Aqua, Jel and Iro on the panel, they talk survival strategies, pretty men in spandex, bad sequels to bad games and the One Piece Rap before going for an in-depth discussion of this blog’s undoubted favourite topic, the Persona games. Beware spoilers!
