First Look: Boruto: Naruto Next Generations
Set years after Naruto saved the ninja world and became the Seventh Hokage, it’s now time for the next generation(s) to take up the long-running ninja-themed shonen show mantle.

Glenn Radars – whose name is too good for the show he’s in – is a magical instructor and also a bastard. Otherwise, it’s the usual light novel mad libs bullshit.
Ao is a bored high school girl who gets a mysterious package in the mail. In the package is a protoype “frame arms girl”, basically gunpla but the robots are cute girls with no pants. She is hired to test the new model by battling with other frame arms girls.
After meeting a girl who fell out of the sky, Gran ends up in a poorly-balanced fight with a five-headed dragon. Later, we have adventures!
Eren Yeager and his boxcutter-wielding friends are back, murdering more naked giants and encouraging people to cosplay. We pick up where we left off in season one, after the capture of someone notable and with a dorky face peeking through a crack in the wall.
A bunch of strange young girls have magical powers, and one of them meets a bizarrely unperturbed florist named Zouroku. I guess it’ll be one of those dad shows, with a bunch of weird magical shenanigans tacked on?
It’s back to class with our favourite perpetually-sobbing teen hero and his adorable accomplices.
Months after their hearts were broken, Mugi and Hanabi reunite amidst their school’s cultural festival.
Goodbye.
It’s been a long journey though decades of history, but the curtain has fallen on this storyteller’s story. More than just introducing a new generation to a lost art, Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu is also a deeply personal tale full of tragedy but also love. Join us as we share our final thoughts on this beautiful masterpiece.
It’s the last Roundup of the winter season and we say good bye to Seiren and Interviews with Monster Girls while Classicaloid and Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid stubbornly hold on for another episode.
If you go about doing a season preview, it is only obvious you also close off on a season review. In The Wrap-Up, all of our contributors get to shine a spotlight on the show they thought to be the very best of the past few weeks, as well as reflect back on the preview to see which shows let us down the most. When you watch currently airing anime or tokusatsu, eventually the question will rise which of these shows can rank amongst the medium’s true classics. Regardless of who covered what, this is where we single out the cream of the crop, and decide which shows from the past season deserve to stand the test of time.
Part 3 features the new series by Oreimo’s Tsukasa Fushimi, Eromanga Sensei, and so by default is the worst part of the preview guide. Fortunately it also features the return The Eccentric Family, which I must admit has been sitting at the top of my backlog for quite some time. There’s also an unusually high amount shows coming back this season that we we wouldn’t normally cover, so let us know if we are missing out on anything good.
Part 2 of our season guide is headlined by the return of another GLORIO favorite, Rage of Bahamut. Unfortunately the rest of this block is looking a bit bland, and I’m predicting the super meta Re:Creators is going to be a big hit for better or worse. But hey, half the fun of a new anime season is finding a show that proves us wrong. Let us know what you plan on checking out.
Troubled by her seemingly genuine feelings for Kanai, Akane joins him on a trip to a hot springs resort – where he confronts her with a startling proposal.
Another season is almost in the books and once again it’s time to look ahead at new shows. Spring is loaded with returning favorites, so many that I will actually post a list of the ones we are not planning to cover in part 3 of the guide. As for our first part, it’s headlined by the return of GLORIO favorite My Hero Academia. You can also join me in wondering if Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor is the worst title of all time, for anything. Enjoy!
In our second to last Roundup for Winter, we say goodbye to March Comes In Like a Lion with an extremely disappointing final episode, but at least we know it will return later this year. Fortunately the rest of the shows land pretty solid setups for their final episodes of the season, so it looks like we’ll be ending on a high note.
I marathoned the amazing Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu this week (more on that another time) and I have to admit, watching that masterpiece has made it a little tough to get excited about this week’s batch of average episodes. There is still some good content though, most notably former best show of the season March Comes In Like a Lion returning to it’s heartwarming, adorable self. Now please excuse me as I impatiently wait for the next episode of Rakugo to emotionally destroy me.
Sanae invites a heartbroken Hanabi to her family’s summer retreat. Atsuya invites himself. This post isn’t really about any of that.
f you ever want to sell someone on watching Classicaloid just tell them at some point Franz Schubert destroys half a dozen other classical composers in a dis track so hot they all turn into Parappa the Rapper characters. Nothing else matters this week… well except shout out to Marlin for giving me a breather on some shows this week and don’t worry, Artemis will be back soon.
