Robotics;Notes Episode 20
The hammiest sequence of events happens, and for once it really doesn’t work in this show’s favor.
The hammiest sequence of events happens, and for once it really doesn’t work in this show’s favor.
Misa escapes and goes on a rampage in the Expo, destroying every robot and incapacitating her own for ostensibly no reason. Thing is, that was apparently an EM generated hallucination…. yeah this show is really startin’ to go away from any sense of suspension of disbelief.
Recap: Aki and Kai have finally made it to the Japan Expo. Unfortunately, despite the apparent popularity of KILL-BALLAD, everyone seems to hate Gunvarrel. Kinda comes out of nowhere.
Airi’s true nature is revealed, and honestly it’s kinda stupid. After my disappointment mounts, R;N manages to snag me back in. GUN-BUILD2 is complete as Kai searches for the final report. In the shadows, Aki’s sister and her boss are plotting something. Much like Okabe and his lab, will the unintended consequences of messing with conspiracy finally fall Kai and the gang?
Recap: Kai and Frau work to stop the hacker who’s caused the robots in Tokyo to go berserk.
Recap: Kai continues to unlock the Kimijima Kou reports, while the rest of the team makes progress on GUN-Build 2 with the help of the magical monopole they found earlier. In addition, we get to learn a little more about Frau in the process.
Recap: With a fear of robots and a lack of skills, Jun starts to feel at odds with staying in the Robotics Club. When her grandfather Doc becomes ill, she visits, but is turned away. Will this be the last we see of the adorable karate girl?
Recap: Kaito and Frau continue to uncover the mystery and conspiracies that are held within the Kimijima Kou reports. Amidst all the confusion, the final episode of Gunvarrel is suddenly leaked, throwing everything into even greater disarray.
With the project complete, Akiho’s dream is finally becoming reality. Unfortunately, reality seems to not feel so kindly towards her.
Frau has Kai live up to his end of the bargain catching cheaters, which results in his most assholeish behavior yet. After Subaru settles things with his almost equally horrible father, and Akiho finally gets the parts she needs through her sponsorship, things are starting to look up again for Team GUN-BUILD1. Unfortunately, such good feelings are short-lived.
Kai delves deeper into the secrets of Kou Kimijima, but is only left with more questions. To Akiho’s jubilation, two new members of the GUN-BUILD1 team finally join up, solidifying our band of five. While Jun’s fantasies make the first half, Subaru’s family problems finally rear their head in the second act.
While Aki is struggling with financing, Kei investigates the weird reaction his tablet had in the last episode. What he uncovers may bring him to face against a publicly benign but secretly militant scientific body. Wait, haven’t I heard that plot hook before?
Recap: The school continues to mess with our poor genki girl, declaring the ROBO-ONE prize funds won’t be added to the clubs budget until after she graduates. This means she’s forced on a fundraising campaign. Meanwhile, Kai gets roped up in another ROBO-ONE competition by MISTAH PUREADISU, the first guy to actually take his KILL-BALLAD…
Recap: Finally, the ROBO-ONE competition is here! Will Aki and Kai prevail, or will Mr. Pleiades’s star power be too much for them to handle?
Aki is driven in making a robot that can win the funding she needs. Kaito is somewhat given some character, shown as sort of a replacement figure after presumably the untimely death of Aki’s sister in a tragic accident. Doesn’t stop him from continuing to be a dick to the poor genki girl.
