Back home, Chihaya has to go through surgery to help her ailing finger, using Arata’s masterful game against Shinobu as mental preparation for the path to come. Is she starting to see Arata in a way that goes past mere rivalry?
Mashima is in the zone as he makes his way to the B-Class finals against the talented Rion. At the same time, Arata and Shinobu are duking it out in the A-Class finals. Who should Chihaya watch?

In the most filler-y episode to date, Arata arrives on the scene to watch Chihaya and the gang play, only to find himself roped into breaking the rules to help one of his hometown’s schools.
Recap: Tsukuba gets put into the first match as Komano goes to scout out the best teams. In an interesting twist, Mizusawa’s first opponent is a team of players with non-japanese heritage. Can the team put aside the usual Japanese xenophobia and play?
Chihaya is still reeling after her close loss to Amakasu. With nationals only days away, the band club finally presses on the issue of their club room. Despite her normal stubbornness, Chihaya even lets them take it, thinking that being kind to other clubs won’t go unrewarded.
Mizusawa continues their fight against Hokuo. Every match comes down to the draw, but Hokuo has the experience to put Mizusawa in a bind. Will they let luck rule them, or can they find a way to win despite the odds?
