Hanamura faces down the Tree of Genesis. After the climax, our main characters come together for one final heart to heart over their beloved Aika.
The team goes through their final prep work before assaulting the Tree using an ingenious mix of diversion and subterfuge.
With the biggest revelation of the entire show out of the way, our two heroes are at a loss for what to do. Thankfully, a fire is lit under them by an unlikely Hanamura, and Evangeline is already in plans to defeat the Pillar of the Tree once and for all.
Yes, Aika is the Mage of Exodus. With this information out in the open Hakaze tells all. Despite the brandished swords of the end of last episode, Aika takes it all a little too well, deciding the only way to make things work is to create her death herself. Unable to let such a tragedy occur, Hakaze attempts to kill Aika herself in a mix of rage and sorrow.
Recap: Hakaze continues to push Hanamura to his limits, causing Evangeline to want to regroup and talk through both side’s ideas. Meanwhile, on the way to Aika’s grave, Mahiro and Yoshino meet up once again to put the matter of Aika’s boyfriend to rest.
Hakaze confronts Yoshino on the emotionless nature that he handled Aika’s death. As Hanamura explains his reasoning for Yoshino being the mysterious boyfriend, Mahiro simply refuses to believe it. In the end, Yoshino’s suffering causes Hakaze to do something drastic.
Megumu is back from his travels around the world in order to sew the seeds of discontent against the Tree. Back in the Yoshino and Hakaze camp, the poor girl still can’t get a good grasp of her emotions, and thus spends most of the episode being hilariously adorable.
