Recap: After the most forced dramatic turns into the stupidest payout, my patience is wearing thin. However, with Yuuki’s capture by the Public Safety Commission, we might end up actually having some enjoyable drama.
This episode really betrays its viewers. It expects us to take the dramatic brunt of our MC having a near-death experience at the end of one episode, and finding him perfectly fine at the beginning of the next. I can forgive the drama at the drop of the hat because at least there was later given some explanation for it, but this was unforgivable. If you’re going to have your MC hit by a truck, you better bet your ass that he gets hit by that goddamn truck.
I also really hope this story was using this episode to completely bury Chisato as any kind of romantic interest to Yuuki. It is clear she is only using him to console herself over a psychosis which honestly makes no sense. She is just straight up crazy with little to back it. I get the whole dead brother thing, but seeing your dead brother and denying his chocolate before his death should not make you flip the fuck out like she does.
At the very least we get a dramatic development that doesn’t have anything to do with crazy bitches. It seems next time we’ll finally get to see what the deal was with that non sequitur scene in the very first episode. All this shadowy business has been one of the few good teases of this show, but If what I heard was correct, we only have two episodes left. I’m glad the mystery of Morishita was finally resolved, but it just brings up so many questions that I don’t see how we have enough time to answer them. I can only hope they do manage a way to finally share about the seedy underbelly of the school as well as still have sufficient development for the actual election to round out our story.
Final note, I appreciate some of the details in this interrogation room. If you notice, the walls of that room are padded with sound dampening panels. You’ll see the same kinds of things in practice halls, it’s a nice touch. The art for the PSC guys is awfully QUALITY, though.
