Thank You, Mr. Iwata. I Finally Understand.
We here at The Glorio Blog join so many others in mourning the loss of Nintendo president Satoru Iwata. He will be missed.

The Sakuradas are a normal, loving family that goes about their business every day like any other family… except they are all constantly under surveillance for a reality TV show. Also, they are royalty. Also, one of the children will be voted in as the next King or Queen by the viewing audience in a few months time. Also, they have super powers. This show is weird.
Yuki loves going to school – so much so that she’s joined the “School Living Club” in which, as the name implies, the members stay overnight at school. She happily spends her days going to class, teasing her underclassmen Mii-kun, and chasing around her adorable pet dog. Absolutely nothing is wrong with this situation. Nope. Don’t pay any mind to the girl sharpening the shovel in the corner. Everything is fine.
Umaru is a beautiful high school student who is the best at everything and adored by everyone. When she gets home however, she transforms into a lazy, obnoxious brat that takes advantage of her older brother’s kindness with zero repercussions.
The government has revealed the existence of demi-humans – half human, half monsters like lamias, harpies, centaurs, etc. Naturally, the first thing they do is regulate having sex with them. Thanks to the Interspecies Cultural Exchange Act, our hero is forced to live with a lamia girl who mistakes his basic human decency for love and well, you can figure out the rest.
A new threat appears called VAPE, an organization that uses red Crowds to commit acts of terrorism. Not to be outdone, the G-Crew picks up some reinforcements and welcomes a new alien visitor.
A 30-something JSDF soldier goes about his day job to support his true passion: he’s a total otaku that loves fantasy anime and games. The two collide in the worst way when a gate opens in Tokyo and an army of fantasy monsters and soldiers attempts an invasion. With the initial attack quelled, our hero joins an expedition through the gate to see what’s on the other side.
Yamada does whatever it takes to unite the seven witches and makes his wish.
Part 3 of our Summer 2015 Anime Guide is basically a formality for me to talk about my most anticipated show of the season, Gatchaman Crowds Inisght. Hopefully the surreal, colorful look at life in the Social Media Age will be the sequel we never knew we needed. As for the rest of it, well, despite what Gee tells me about Prison School I can’t say we saved the best for last. But, who knows? Maybe Bikini Warriors and Pillow Boys will turn out to be new anime classics! Take a look and let us know what you think looks watchable.
Jel delivers his eulogy for Mikagura School Suite and says sayonara to Ninja Slayer, but sadly not Plastic Memories. Meanwhile just about every other show is going for the Baker’s Dozen on episode count or continuing to next season, so it seems reports of the Summer 2015 Roundup’s demise were premature.
Yamada’s life is falling apart in the aftermath of the Seventh Witch’s power, but he’s determined to do whatever it takes to reverse it. Concerned that he is getting too close to the true secret about the witches, the Student Council starts taking drastic measures to stop him.
White recalls growing up in a house of Casters as the only one who can’t use magic. With her memories of her family driving her, she works with Black to capture Leo and harness his power.
Part 1 of our guide is headlined by the hopefully glorious train wreck that is Chaos Dragon and shamefully hides Shimoseka, the front runner for Worst Show of the Season. Somewhere in the middle we have the return of Aquarion and Symphogear, the hot blooded action of Gangsta and Ushio & Tora, and some unknown romantic comedy potential with Classroom Crisis. With that kind of lineup maybe “glorious train wreck” is the best any of these shows can hope for, but surely we will find the surprise hits like we always do. Take a look, judge for yourself, and let us know what you’ll be watching.
It’s the penultimate Spring 2015 Roundup as our shows prepare for their finales or mid-series climax. Dogakobo’s offerings continue to fizzle out, SNAFU gears up for a possible strong finish, and for better or worse My Love Story, Ninja Slayer, Moe Nagato, and Arslan begin to burrow in for next season.
Let’s hope the various Roundup shows are saving up some time and money for their final episodes as a whole lot of them got beat by the ugly stick. I’d expect that kind of thing from Ninja Slayer but when even Plastic Memories looks bad, something must be up.
Maria decides she no longer wants her power and enlists Yamada’s help. He tracks down a so-called “Witch Killer” named Tamaki to remove it, but as always there are demands to be met and Student Council politics to navigate. Before Maria’s power can be removed, Yamada sees a glimpse of a future he is determined to change.
Jel, Iro, and Marlin discuss the origins of their refined Anime palates, debate if watching anime is “cool”, and recommend shows for any brave soul attempting to get into anime in 2015.
Klaus, Stephen A. Starphase, and Lucky Abrams meet with the LHOS, the group responsible for the barrier protecting New York City. More importantly, Leo, Zapp, and Zed need to find a place to eat lunch.
My Love Story!! and Plastic Memories deliver the Dos and Don’ts of good romance stories while Mikagura School Suite has apparently fired their stuff and put the main character in charge. CUT! Seriously, who wrote that episode…
The club finds the Fifth Witch who appears to be using her power to turn other first year students into delinquents. Yamada confronts her, her gang, and even the Student Council President in his search for answers.
