Resolution in the face of an uncertain future is something that I think everyone struggles with at one point or another in their lives. When your passion is for an oversaturated field and your talent isn’t what it needs to be to pull ahead, do you give up or forge ahead?
Emotions run high as the cast of Sakurasou experience this valentines day. Nanami Nearly misses her audition and only makes it on time because of Sorata’s help, while Mashiro waits for him to return to school with a gift for him.
Valentines day is approaching fast and the residents of Sakurasou are growing anxious. Mashiro is becoming jealous of Nanami, while Nanami prepares for her last stand against being sent home.
Sorata returns home for the new year. Since they have no where else to go he brings Mashiro, Nanami and Misaki with him. Antics ensue as Sorata’s family picks on him for bringing home a harem.
It is Christmas Eve and Nanami has a “date” with Sorata. Mashiro has her banquet and Misaki plots to ambush Jin with another confession.
Things are heating up at Sakurasou. Mashiro is beginning to realize her feelings for Sorata. Meanwhile Rita is hot on Ryuunosuke despite returning to England, and Misaki is sending Jin love letters with 8bit marriage music and wedding registrations.
Sorata gets his results back from game design competition, and he passed the first round. Also, he received a letter from Mashiro asking him what love is. Unsure how to respond to the later Sorata focuses on his presentation. He rewrites it many times and puts his all into it, but in the end when he brings it before the judges he fails to present he fails to be accepted.
Sorata’s imouto Yuuko comes to visit Sakurasou and pester her brother. When she arrives Yuuko is immediately introduced to Mashiro, and antics ensue.
Four months have passed since Mashiro came to Sakurasou, and Sorata is still taking care of her; however, we are in for some mix up as Nanami the childhood friend joins the cast at Sakurasou. Nanami has been having issues paying for her rent, and we learn that she is only able to go to school for becoming a voice actress so long as she pays for it all out of her own pocket, and apparently the rent at Sakurasou is quite cheap.
The drama that’s been building up reaches it’s climax this episode. Sorata has aspirations he wishes to work for, but his self doubt holds him back. As Sorta prepares to leave Sakourasou by giving away his kitties, and packing up his stuff it becomes apparent that what he really wants do is stay at Sakurasou, and learn to become a game programer.
Recap: The drama is being unwrapped, and Sakurasou is quickly subverting the implications of it’s title to become one of the better drama’s in recent anime. Sorata is a bit put-off when he realizes that even Mashiro the eccentric girl he has been taking care of is already an established artist with clear goals, and ambitions.
Sorata is put on official Mashiro Duty, and question his own ambitions as he watches and interacts with Mashiro, and the rest of the crew at Sakurasou. Also, more kitties!
Our young protagonist attends a prestigious art school. He is caught tending to a cat he adopted and forced to move into Sakura Hall; a dorm for the schools more eccentric kids. As time went on he adopted more cats, and now has six of them under his care, but hes not done finding cute creatures that need taking care of just yet.
With the Summer season coming to a close we’re dedicating this week’s OP/EDs to our favorite OP and ED of the past season. Not a lot of noteworthy opening and endings to choose from this Summer, but these two definitely stand out above the rest.
