Five Years of GLORIO: 2012-2013

To celebrate our 5th anniversary, we decided to relive our favorite part of forcing ourselves to watch every anime that ever comes out: the surprises. Just about every season a show or two pops up out of nowhere and turns out to be pretty good, and we wanted to give a shout out to a few you might of missed. To start, we’ll be taking a look at 2012 and 2013.

OP/ED Op-Eds: Best of Summer 2012

With the Summer season coming to a close we’re dedicating this week’s OP/EDs to our favorite OP and ED of the past season. Not a lot of noteworthy opening and endings to choose from this Summer, but these two definitely stand out above the rest.

It's exactly what it looks like

Humanity Has Declined Episode 9

As the fairy population continues to explode, a small group of outcasts seeks asylum with the humans. The Mediator is assigned to move them to a remote territory, but the group gets stranded on a deserted island en route. With nowhere to go, the fairies’ eagerness to please soon has them experiencing what humanity is really like.

Humanity Has Declined Episode 8

As the Mediator tries to figure out the Fairies’ time loop, she runs into a very different version of the Assistant. She then must use the clues she’s been given to piece together who he really is.

This episode is BANANAS

Humanity Has Declined Episode 7

Grandpa sends The Mediator on a errand to pick up The Assistant, but he’s nowhere to be found. She runs into a fairy, after which there are bananas and cloning and/or time travel involved. I have no idea what is going on anymore.

Incoherent Babble Episode 2: Yuiyui edition

Incoherent Babble is back, as Aqua, Zigg, Iro and Jel return to your ears for more baseless rambling. This time they’re taking on the K-ON! movie, which was simulwatched and enjoyed to varying degrees. Highlights this episode include Aqua heartlessly mocking Zigg’s pronunciation, Iro’s general hatred of K-ON! and all things associated with it and the group’s impressive derailment into a discussion of Madoka Magica. Informative!

Humanity Has Declined Episode 5

A festival is held to celebrate the increasingly futile Human Monument Project and the discovery of a possible new electricity source. This causes the fairies, who die when exposed to electromagnetic waves, to leave Camphorwood. In the meantime, the Mediator investigates the ruins of a nearby city the UN would like to restore and Nana Mizuki shows up as some kind of robot cat girl.

Humanity Has Declined Episode 3

The Mediator is visited by an old “friend” known as Y who is working on a project to preserve human history. Y loses focus on her mission and works to revive a long lost art form, leading to disastrous consequences.
